crush month - day 26

oh good gravy, i thought it couldn't get better than the hallway fight sequence in inception. then this happened. and yet, the video above is even better than both of those things put together. i love him. oh so very very much.

crush month - day 27

at the show today an older woman walked up to my table purposefully, looked me straight in the eye and said "i love yoyos, too." it was awesome. she asked me about my necklaces and where i learned to make yoyos AND did i know about the clover yoyo makers? yes, yes i do. they're my constant companions. she told me about the yoyo vest she's making herself and how looking at my yoyos was making her kick herself for not thinking to use silk. seriously, i cannot stress how awesome this conversation was. we totally geeked out about YOYOs.

 

 

seriously. yoyos. i've made thousands of them yet i never tire of them. i love taking a new fabric, cutting out the circle and stitching it up - i'm almost always a little surprised by how the fabric looks in yoyo form. i love making them out of silk - i think it makes them look so modern. i'm always thinking about new things i can make with them. i dream about them. i just love them.

crush month - day 28

while i don't entirely get the whole gothic/sweet lolita thing, i totally appreciate seeing it in action. everybody's got their thing and its really fun seeing people full on geek out on their thing. that's really what this girl is doing right? totally geeking out on her thing and its sort of awesome. (plus, she was really nice. she was our booth neighbor's helper and she was as sweet as she looks. also, freckles. COME ON.)

cowboy boots. for some reason i've decided i need a pair for fall. i had a pair that i'd gotten a rummage sale in high school that disappeared in one our moves. i wore them a ton over many, many years - definitely getting my $2 worth. these cost considerably more. and as much as i want one of the super fancy pairs above, i'll probably go with one of these more fiscally responsible pairs below.
