day one conversation

shawn: how is that going to work?

me: i have a plan.

shawn: OH MY GOD. IS THERE GOING TO BE TIME TRAVEL?

me: no.

shawn: <long pause. heavy sigh>  fine. even if there isn't going to be time travel, i still really want to know what happens next.

1,729 words. two whole chapters. i am pleased.
